Pokémon Abilities can determine the fate of a deck, and the Scarlet & Violet—Evolutions in Paldea expansion is full of them.

Get off to a great start with Tapatoès-ex’s Ability, “Ruckus & Grab,” which lets you discard your hand and draw six cards.

“Ruckus and Grab” is reminiscent of Dedenne-GX’s “Dedenne Shift” ability or Nostenfer-V’s “Dark Advantage” ability, but differs in two ways: you don’t need to play the Pokémon from your hand to activate this ability, but it can only be used during your first turn.

If you’re looking to quickly load up on Energy, Foretress-ex can flood your field with up to five Basic Energy cards. This comes at a cost: when you use its “Energy Explosion” ability, Foretress-ex is knocked out, so you forfeit two Prize cards.

Bekipan and Forgelina can also lend a hand. The former will help you search for or retrieve a Supporter card, while the latter will let you draw three cards during your turn.
